I studied studio art at James Madison University (JMU) and graduated with a Bachelors in Science with a concentration in photography in 2016. I took a painting class my Sophomore year in college and absolutely loved it. I realized how much I enjoyed painting and how natural it felt to me. However, at that time, photography was all I wanted to do and I put painting on the back burner. After college, I continued my work in photography, and only painted a little off and on.  In Summer 2020, I started getting restless and it finally dawned on me that I needed to start painting, for real. That’s when I launched this shop and the rest is history.

I’ve always been drawn to paintings with lots of texture and impressionistic style. So naturally I gravitated towards that in my own work. I want to create work that evokes emotions but  also does not need to be explained. There are no stories behind my work - it's simply what I feel when I sit down in front of the canvas, and that's what comes out in my work.
